Good to know
Quick answers to the questions guests ask us most, so nothing surprises you on the night.
- Is there a service charge?
- Yes. A 10% service charge is added to every bill, as at most restaurants in Sri Lanka. Anything extra is welcome but never expected.
- Do I need to book?
- Not always.
- When are you open?
- Holiday changes are posted here and on Google.
- Do you have gluten-free food?
- Yes. Our kitchen also uses wheat, so tell us if you are coeliac and the chef will guide you.
- What about vegan and vegetarian?
- Plenty. The tofu katsu curry, devilled vegetables, hummus and ajillo mushrooms are vegan; dishes are marked V and VG on the menu.
- Is the food spicy?
- Only if you want it to be. Devilled dishes come mild, medium, hot or extra hot. The Italian and Japanese dishes are mild.
- Are children welcome?
- Very.
- Do you serve alcohol?
- By law, alcohol isn’t served on Poya (full moon) days and a few national days each year; mocktails are always on.
- Is there a dress code?
- No. Hiking boots welcome.
- Can you host a group or a private event?
- Send a group enquiry and we’ll plan the menu and seating with you.
- Is it hard to find at night?
- No: we’re on Passara Road, about 500 metres from town.
